1. Genflow: A gene therapy for aging dogs advances
What’s new: a result in naturally aged animals
Genflow reported on September 8 that its randomized, blinded study of 24 older beagles met its primary endpoint: a reduction in biological age measured by the GRIM methylation clock. The study evaluated its SIRT6 gene therapy using different delivery approaches.
Why it matters: pets could be a market of their own
The commercial prospect is a veterinary medicine for age-related decline. Genflow says it is discussing licensing and co-development with animal-health companies. A successful program could reach customers through veterinary care rather than wait for a human aging indication. Those discussions are not a completed deal.
What comes next
The detailed dataset is due in October. The topline release does not establish how much each group benefited, durable functional improvement, or longer life. The opportunity deserves attention because an explicitly longevity-directed intervention has reached an aged-animal trial milestone; its product case still rests on the fuller results.
Partners can inquire; pet owners cannot buy it yet
This remains an investigational veterinary program, not a treatment available to order for a pet. Animal-health companies interested in development or licensing can use Genflow’s company contact page. The announcement does not offer a pet-enrollment route.
2. Moonwalk: Obesity medicine takes aim at fat tissue
What’s new: a funded alternative mechanism
Moonwalk announced $70 million in funding on September 8, with Lilly among the investors. Its RNA interference approach is designed to reduce the activity of selected genes in fat tissue through non-incretin pathways. First human studies of MW101 are planned for late 2027.
Why it matters: the ambition is more than another appetite drug
The company’s preclinical claims include fat reduction with lean-mass preservation and the possibility of infrequent dosing. If those properties translate to people, they could support a different treatment proposition: changing fat biology while preserving muscle, rather than competing solely on weight lost.
For investors and developers, the financing makes tissue-targeted obesity medicines a concrete area of competition. For clinics, it is a pipeline to follow, not an available treatment.
What comes next
Human safety and performance remain ahead. The delivery chemistry, licensed from Suzhou Siran, is part of the commercial asset; Lilly’s investment is not evidence that the medicine works or a commercialization agreement.
A partnering opportunity ahead of human trials
MW101 is not available as a treatment; Moonwalk plans its first human studies for late 2027. Companies interested in collaboration can use Moonwalk’s partnering contact page. No participant sign-up is offered in the financing announcement.
3. Insilico: An AI-designed drug enters Phase III testing
What’s new: AI-led discovery reaches Phase III
Insilico used AI to identify a biological target and design rentosertib, its experimental lung-disease drug. Now the first patient has been dosed in its Phase III trial—a significant milestone for turning AI-led discovery into medicines.
Insilico announced the milestone on September 10. The investigational drug targets TNIK in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive lung-scarring disease. The planned 320-person study in China will follow treatment over 52 weeks.
A September 7 paper, with Insilico executives and employees among its authors, reports an exploratory analysis of blood proteins from 42 participants in the earlier 12-week Phase IIa trial. Six aging clocks predicted lower biological age in treated groups.
Why it matters: a late-stage test of AI-led discovery
For drugmakers considering licensing and investors assessing pipelines, the milestone puts an AI-originated drug into a larger human test. The commercial question is whether that discovery approach can deliver a medicine with meaningful lung-function benefit and acceptable safety. The immediate market is pulmonary fibrosis, not an approved treatment for aging.
What comes next
The clocks cannot separate changes in aging from changes in lung disease. They do not demonstrate rejuvenation or longer life. The Phase III commercial case depends on meaningful lung-function benefit and safety. The additional aging evidence is a research opportunity, not an approved claim.
For patients, the route is a clinical trial
Rentosertib remains investigational. Patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis can ask their treating specialist about GENESIS-IPF-3 in China, identified as NCT07687459 in Insilico’s study announcement. It names Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital. The specialist or study site must confirm eligibility and whether enrollment is open; a first patient dosed does not establish an available place.
4. Apple: Longevity moves into the Health app
What’s new: a consumer platform connects the pieces
Apple announced a redesigned Health app on September 9, including a Longevity tab, Health Age, and at-home movement assessments. Users will also be able to buy and schedule a panel of more than 50 biomarkers for $119 through approximately 2,000 Quest locations in the U.S. The redesigned app is due later this year, initially in U.S. English.
Why it matters: measurement is becoming a platform feature
Apple is bringing wearable trends, lab purchasing, and longevity guidance into an interface customers already know. The $119 panel gives consumers a concrete entry price to compare with testing memberships. For clinics, the opportunity is to make the value beyond measurement explicit: clinical interpretation, appropriate treatment, and continuing care. That is a competitive implication, not evidence that Apple has displaced those services.
Apple Health can already share supported data with ChatGPT when users give permission, helping them explore patterns beyond a daily score. That is an existing ChatGPT Health connection, separate from Apple’s announced Longevity features—not evidence that ChatGPT powers the new tab or receives every new metric. What comes next
Watch the actual rollout and lab-ordering terms. Health Age requires Apple Watch, and features depend on compatible devices and regional availability. Apple has announced the product; adoption and clinical benefit remain to be demonstrated.

5. Elysium: A longevity brand opens the door to care
What’s new: customers can enter the service
Elysium announced TELI’s opening on September 9. Its live menu, checked September 13, lists metformin at $30 a month and NAD+ injections from $155 a month. Eligible adults aged 18 or older can enroll online in participating U.S. states. Elysium supplies the platform; independent clinicians assess patients, and partner pharmacies fill appropriate prescriptions.
Why it matters: a product brand is expanding what customers can buy
Customers can move from buying supplements to recurring prescriptions and provider messaging through the same brand. For clinics, the competitive proposition is convenience: online intake, home delivery, and continuing contact. Brand familiarity could help attract customers, but the opening does not establish better care or demand.
The offerings have different evidence bases. TELI notes that some medications are compounded and have not undergone FDA review or approval for safety, effectiveness, or quality.
What comes next
The meaningful commercial development will be uptake of ongoing care. The opening establishes the offer and access route; enrollment and continuation of care have not been disclosed in the sources reviewed.
Start with TELI’s online intake
Adults aged 18 or older can visit TELI’s service menu and choose a service to begin intake. Availability depends on the service and state; a clinician determines whether a prescription is appropriate. Enrollment does not guarantee a prescription.
GLP-1 update: a younger patient changes the care model
Novo Nordisk reported STEP Young results on September 7. In 165 children aged 6 to under 12 with obesity, the 68-week trial met its BMI-reduction endpoint. Under the analysis assuming full treatment adherence, 40.4% receiving semaglutide fell below the obesity threshold versus 0% receiving placebo. Both groups received diet and physical-activity support.
The business implication
If this use gains authorization, the potential service is family-centered: the child receives care, a parent helps manage it, and pediatric clinicians oversee treatment and development. That could favor services built around families rather than an extension of adult weight-loss enrollment. This is analysis, not a reported commercial outcome.
Novo plans to present detailed STEP Young results in November. Wegovy would need an expanded FDA approval to treat obesity in children aged 6 to under 12.
What these developments open up
These opportunities reach customers on different clocks. TELI can enroll adults now; its next commercial milestone is sustained uptake. Genflow is seeking animal-health partners ahead of fuller October results. Insilico has a defined patient market, with lung-function and safety findings carrying the commercial case. Moonwalk is competing for a future place in obesity care, with human entry planned for late 2027. Apple’s planned launch brings measurement and lab purchasing closer to a familiar consumer interface.
That distinction changes the next decision: clinics can compare an available service, drug developers can evaluate mechanisms and partners, and investors can distinguish a near-term customer proposition from years of clinical development. Longevity demand is creating room for each—but on very different timelines.
